El malvado hermano de Thor, Loki, ha escapado de Asgard para buscar a Yggdrasil, el Árbol de los Nueve Reinos. El árbol tiene el poder del Universo y está escondido en la Tierra. Con la ayuda del dios lobo gigante Fenrir, Loki planea destruir el árbol y replantarlo a su imagen, dándole dominio sobre todo.
